What & Why
This blog partly a celebration of consumerism, and the good and bad of something that now occupies an awful lot of peoples time – whether it’s subliminally absorbing TV commercials, or milling aimlessly around the many malls that sprawl across the country.
It’s also a chance to, like every other nitwit on the Internet, a chance for me contribute to the collective white noise about things that piss me off. Whether it is the daft behaviour of some businesses, or hypocritical behaviour of political activists or governments that aren’t democratically elected – as well as some who are.
I don’t receive anything for free from any company – I wish! If I recommend a product or service it’s because I’ve genuinely found it to be good, if I’ve bagged it that’s because it’s been really bad.
I am now not a paid up member of any political party.
I have moved my way across the spectrum from ‘left’ to ‘right’ as I guess the more I’ve seen, the more cynical I’ve become. That said, most people involved in politics, from the left or right, from the lowliest member to an MP, are well meaning, dedicated and probably deserve a lot more respect than the public gives them – in every case they want to improve things, you might not agree with how they want to do it and the results often leave a lot to be desired, but at least they are out there doing something about it!
“Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to become the means by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of other men. Blood, whips and guns – or dollars. Take you choice – there is no other.
